Building reviews permit applications, issues permits and conducts inspections in accordance with the Ontario Building Code, the Township of North Dumfries' By-law, the Township's zoning By-law and other legislation. Building is dedicated to protecting public safety through the issuance of building permits, reviewing  constructing drawings, and inspecting construction throughout the building stages.

Prior to beginning a new construction project either outside or inside your home, you must first determine whether you require a permit. This section contains information on obtaining a building permit, the regulations surrounding its proper use, the requirements for obtaining a permit and relevant documentation.

As on January 1, 2006, a number of changes will take affect requiring designers to become registered and/or qualified under the new requirements under Bill 124.
