Electricity in triple and single phase-standard voltages are provided by Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro. Natural gas is available from Union Gas Company Ltd. Petroleum and propane are available from many local sources.

Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. is a municipally owned utility. The business is an Ontario business corporation owned by the City of Cambridge and the Township of North Dumfries. It serves over 43,000 customers in the service territory of the City of Cambridge and the Township of North Dumfries. The company's mandate in the restructured electrical environment is to deliver a safe, reliable supply of power to its customers. The focus of our 85 employees is "to deliver". We deliver comfort for life.

We are a business corporation under the rules of the Ontario business corporations act. We are now governed by a formal Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the direction for the future. The President and CEO of the company is responsible for the day to day activities of the staff and facilities with the support of the management team.

Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc., as a regulated utility does not make a profit from selling energy. We simply pass through the costs without markup.
