The North Dumfries Community Complex also has a walking track around the upper area of the skating rink. The walking track is open when the building is open (see hours above) and anyone is able to come in and use the track at their leisure. Thanks to some funds raised and the Trillium Grant, the flooring was finished with an appropriate soft walking track surface to make use easy and safe. The track is 200 metres per lap and provides an excellent, dry and warm place to exercise any time of the year.
The North Dumfries Community Complex will soon have a fully functioning Splash Pad and Soccer Park equipped with washrooms and a concession booth. The Centre for Community Group raised funds to provide our Township with this wonderful addition to the North Dumfries Community Complex facilities.
Original opening date for the Splash Pad was for July 2012, however the project has taken a little longer to be completed. Work crews are there around the clock to complete the landscaping and facilities in hopes to have it running prior to the end of this summer. Once we know an official opening date we will post it for the public along with hours of operation.

The North Dumfries Community Complex is sporting a new set of playground equipment (Above Left) along with a brand new splash pad (Above). There are also new soccer fields as seen to the left.
The North Dumfries Community Complex is also home to a large community garden located at the left side of the North Dumfries Community Complex. Families and individuals have taken up plots to grow vegetables and flowers in the community garden. Currently featuring 10x10 plots, the community garden is in its first year showing much success.
There will be further plots available in future and possibly some changes to plot size and function, depending on how the first year goes. For further information the community garden rules are available by clicking here.
The amenities that any gardener needs are being made available to those who use the community garden. This includes a watering system that collects rain water from the North Dumfries Community Complex roof, which is then transferred to a tank located directly next to the garden for use. There is also a shed going in to hold the primary tools of gardening and even a raised gardening plot in the area.
Thanks to the community members who have donated so much time and resources to make this a hit!
The NDCC also contains the Breakaway Cafe, a concession booth on the second level of the arena, above the ice rink. The hours vary and the cafe is only open during hockey and skating seasons. Stop by for a coffee and snack and watch a hockey game or sit in the cafe area where the township has provided free wifi service.
The NDCC contains board rooms, the MacNeil-Hall, a seniors lounge, and a youth room. Many programs are run throughout the building by community groups and businesses alike. The MacNeil-Hall is also booked for wedding and stag & doe functions, for more information on booking please contact Michelle Poissant by email or call 519-632-8800.
The Community Health Centre is also located in the North Dumfries Community Complex building. The CHC runs many programs and uses much of the facility to aide in hosting these programs. For full details on programs, clinics, and events for the Community Health Centre please visit their website.
