Transportation Group Walking Track
The North Dumfries Community Complex has a walking track around the upper area of the skating rink, which is free to use when the building is open. Thanks to donations from local businesses and a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the walking track was finished with a multi-purpose floor that provides comfort and safety to track users. The track is 200 metres per lap and provides an excellent, dry and warm place to exercise. There is also a stretching and warm-up area on the track.
***Please note the track is open during all ice events and track users and spectators are asked to respect each other's space.***
cowan park - Spray pad, PLAYGROUND & Soccer park
The North Dumfries Community Complex has a Spray Pad, accessible Playground and Soccer Park equipped with washrooms and a concession booth. The Centre for Community Group raised funds to provide our Township with this wonderful addition to the North Dumfries Community Complex facilities.
The spray pad is open daily during the summer from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. There is no cost to use the spray pad.
Plan a trip to Cowan Park and spend the day! Remember hats, sunscreen and water bottles!
The North Dumfries Community Complex is also home to a large community garden located at the left side of the North Dumfries Community Complex. Families and individuals have taken up plots to grow vegetables and flowers in the community garden. 10x10 and 10x20 plots are available.
The amenities that any gardener needs are being made available to those who use the community garden. This includes a watering system that collects rain water from the North Dumfries Community Complex roof, which is then transferred to a tank located directly next to the garden for use. There is also a shed to hold the primary tools of gardening.
Thanks to the community members who have donated so much time and resources to make this a hit!
For more information on the community garden, please call Michelle Poissant at 519-632-8800 extension 102.
**The community garden is full for the 2016 growing season!**
