Energy Management
The Township of North Dumfries is dedicated to fostering a culture of energy conservation and environmental sustainability. Energy is critical to the operation of the Township’s buildings, services and for the maintenance of parks. Facilities staff strive to identify energy savings opportunities, investigate and implement cost effective energy retrofit projects throughout municipal facilities, and capitalize on rebate and grant funding programs.

| Beginning in 2011, Ontario Regulation 397/11 (now replaced with O. Reg 507/18), requires all agencies in the Broader Public Sector to prepare a five-year Energy Conservation and Demand Management (ECDM) Plan.
The Township’s objectives of the ECDM Plan are to achieve the following:

Annual Energy Consumption Reporting |
The Township is required to report energy data on each municipal facility, such as the amount of greenhouse gas emissions as well as the type of energy usage. The annual energy consumption and GHG emission reports are as follows:
