Township of North Dumfries Advisory Committees
The Township of North Dumfries citizen committees provide Council and staff with valuable input and insight on a wide variety of subjects through discussions, presentations and recommendations.
For the 2018 – 2022 Term of Council, the following Advisory Committees have been established:
- Planning & Sustainable Development Advisory Committee
- Heritage Advisory Committee
- Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee
- Economic Development Advisory Committee
Council has also established an Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee being the Downtown Ayr: Sreetscape and Public Lands Advisory Committee. More information on this Committee can be found below.
Agendas and Minutes for the Advisory Committees are posted to the Agendas and Minutes page. All Agendas for Advisory Committee meetings are posted to the Township website at least six (6) days prior to the meeting. All Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public.
Planning and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee |
The Planning & Sustainable Development Advisory Committee in their role as an advisory body is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to Township Council that will facilitate and promote balanced, sustainable and integrated long term growth in the Township and any other issues as Council may specify. Heritage Advisory Committee |
The Heritage Advisory Committee in their role as an advisory body is to recommend and assist Township Council on heritage matters related to Part IV and Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, including the review of development applications involving cultural heritage resources, cultural landscapes and other related heritage matters as Council may specify. Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee |
The North Dumfries Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee in their role as an advisory body is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to Township Council that will facilitate and promote inclusive recreation, leisure and cultural programs and activities that respond and support to the diverse residential population of the Township. Economic Development |
The Economic Development Advisory Committee in their role as an advisory body is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to Township Council that will facilitate and promote balanced, sustainable and long term growth that will benefit North Dumfries and its residents through the attraction, expansion and retention of businesses. Downtown Ayr: Streetscape and Public Lands Advisory Committee |
The Downtown Ayr: Streetscape & Public Lands Advisory Committee in their role as an advisory body is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to Township Council that will inform the development of a four seasons plan for decorations, plantings and displays on roads and public lands in Downtown Ayr as part of a broader beautification initiative.
