There are many meetings of Council and Committees of Council. The agenda for all meetings are posted to the website on the Thursday prior to the meeting date. All scheduled meetings are listed on the Agendas and Minutes page. Please note, that meeting dates are subject to change. Any changes in the meeting time will be posted to the website as soon as possible. You may wish to contact the Clerk to confirm meeting dates. Please see below for instructions of how to speak before Council.
Appearing Before Council as a Delegate |
Anyone who wishes to appear as a delegate before Council is required to submit a Delegation Request Form (and any presentation materials) to the Clerk, no later than 4:30 p.m. on the Tuesday before the meeting date. Delegation Request Forms received after that time, will be scheduled on the next available Council agenda. Please note, you may not register as a delegate if you intend to speak to an item that will be listed on the agenda. Delegations must be on matters that are not listed on the agenda. If you wish to address a staff report, you may do so at Committee of the Whole. If you are unsure of this process, or would like additional clarification, please contact the Clerk. If there are multiple delegates wishing to address the same issue, you are encouraged to select one spokesperson to present the views within the allotted time frame. Before you decide to appear before Council as a delegate, you may wish to discuss your concerns with Township staff and/or your Councillor. If your issue cannot be resolved in this manner, staff can then advise you of the next steps to address your concerns. Please take note that:
Please contact the Clerk if you have any questions, or concerns. |
Committee of the Whole Meetings |
Committee of the Whole Meetings are usually scheduled for the second Monday of each month. Delegations are not scheduled during Committee of the Whole meetings. The public, however, can speak to any item on the agenda if they wish. Members of the public are asked to complete the Request to Speak Form prior to the commencement of the meeting and submit it to the Clerk. If the Request to Speak Form is not completed prior to the commencement of the meeting, members of the public must make their intention to speak to an item known to the Chair of the Committee when the Chair asks whether anyone would like to speak to an item. Failure to make your intention known to the Chair will forfeit your opportunity to speak to that item. Please contact the Clerk if you have any questions. |
Public Meetings |
Public Meetings are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of the month (except in July, August and December where typically no Public Meetings are held). Anyone can speak to any item at the Public Meeting, which are held pursuant to the Planning Act. Please complete the Public Meeting Delegation Form and submit to the Clerk. Please contact the Clerk if you have any questions. |
