Public Advisory

Declaration –  Significant Weather Event

Do Not Park Vehicles on Local Township Roads

Environment Canada has issued an extended Yellow Warning – Snow Squall identifying that the current snowfall event will continue through this afternoon and into tomorrow, Tuesday December 30th. With the snow squalls there will be periods of near zero visibility at times due to blowing snow driven by 70 to 90 km/hr wind gusts.  Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are forecast.

To assist with road maintenance operations, the Township has declared a Significant Weather Event in accordance with By-law 2559-13.  No parking of vehicles on local Township roads are permitted starting today, Monday, December 29th at 5:00 p.m. until Tuesday December 30th at 12 Noon. Vehicles parked on-street during the Significant Weather Event may be ticketed.

The Township is appreciative of the assistance of residents to not park their vehicles on the roads during this time period to assist crews from the Public Works Department in completing their snow plowing and sanding operations. Please ensure cars are not blocking sidewalks so that the sidewalk plow operator can safely clear the sidewalks during this snowfall.

Residents are also reminded not to push snow from their driveway onto the road.
