The Region of Waterloo is responsible for the collection of garbage and recycling for residents in the Township of North Dumfries. If you have any questions or collection issues, call the Region's 24-hour Customer Service desk at 519-575-4400.
Please use the following links for more information about blue boxes and green bins.
All residents receive:
- bi-weekly collection of garbage; 4 bags or cans every two weeks
- unlimited weekly collection of green bins
- unlimited weekly collection of recyclables
- bi-weekly collection of large items (limit of 3 items per collection, on same day as garbage collection)
- bi-weekly yard waste collection, March to November.

Electronic Waste |
Electronic waste can now be dropped off for free at a number of locations. Residents are restricted to 2 items per day. Visit recycle my electronics for locations, events, and hours. |
Blue Box |
One complimentary blue box is available (first come, first serve) for home owners or renters in North Dumfries. If you require a second box or a replacement box they can be purchased at hardware or retail stores. In order to be eligible for one free blue box, residents must:
Customers will be required to fill out a form (supplied by Region) indicating whether they are in a new home, or new to the Region.
