Declaration - Significant Weather Event - Do Not Park Vehicles on Township Roads
Environment and Climate Change Canada has extended their Yellow Warning – Snowfall for our area. The snowfall and accumulation will continue through the morning into to the late afternoon. Upwards of 20 to 30 cm of snow are forecast for our area. Visibility will be reduced at times during periods of heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Crews from Public Works have been operating since 4:00 a.m., picking up operations from last evening's crew. All equipment has been deployed to remove snow from the road network, sidewalks and municipal parking lots. Progress will be delayed based upon the heavy snowfall which continues and, the effects of blowing and drifting snow.
To assist with road maintenance operations, the Township has declared a Significant Weather Event in accordance with By-law 2559-13. No parking of vehicles on local Township roads are permitted starting today, Thursday January 15th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. until Friday January 16th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Vehicles parked on-street during the Significant Weather Event may be ticketed.
The Township is appreciative of the assistance of residents to not park their vehicles on the roads during this period to assist crews from the Public Works Division in completing their snow plowing and sanding operations. Please ensure cars are not blocking sidewalks so that the sidewalk plow can safely clear the sidewalks during this snowfall.
Residents are also reminded not to push snow from their driveway onto the road.
The Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act, 1990 authorizes Municipal Clerks and other officers to administer oaths and take affidavits. A Commissioner for Taking Affidavits (also known as a Commissioner of Oaths) is not the same as a Notary Public. The Township reserves the right to refuse commissioning services of any document.
