Environment and Climate Change Canada have issued a Yellow Snowfall Warning for the area. Snowfall totals of 10 to 20 cm are expected, with reduced visibility due to heavy snow and localized blowing snow. The warning is in effect from this morning through tonight, with easterly winds gusting 40 to 50 km/h, particularly in exposed areas.
Crews from Public Works will be deployed to remove snow from the road network, sidewalks and municipal parking lots. Progress to clear these areas could be delayed based on the heavy snowfall and, the effects of blowing and drifting snow.
To assist with road maintenance operations, the Township has declared a Winter Storm Event in accordance with By-law 2559-13. No parking of vehicles on local Township roads are permitted starting today, Sunday, January 25 at 12:00 Noon until Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 12 Noon. Vehicles parked on-street during the Winter Storm Event may be ticketed.
The Township is appreciative of the assistance of residents to not park their vehicles on the roads during this period to assist crews from the Public Works Division in completing their snow plowing and sanding operations. Please ensure cars are not blocking sidewalks so that the sidewalk plow can safely clear the sidewalks during this snowfall.
Residents are also reminded not to push snow from their driveway onto the road.
